IMPATIENT MOTHER TO BE....

Well, as you all well know by now, I am not a patient person. This adoption process is testing my patience. What I started out thinking would only be a year or less wait has turned into a two year wait. Everything I read tells me the waiting is the hardest. It is the unknown that is hard for me... everything about my "baby to be" is unknown. There is no ultrasound - no crystal ball to look into the future to see what might be. We are jumping without a parachute! but with our eyes wide open. I think Steve and I have taken it all well and that this process has brought us closer together - even if it is just to worry about how much longer. Some days we are excited talking about it - other days depressed because we don't know anything. - and then other days mad because we should have him/her by now. What is taking so long? and of course those days we are running around all over God's creation trying to get signatures notarized, court certified and apostilled! Many of these feeling all at once can sometimes get us down. Today is one of those days. One of those days my mind races... asking a million questions... about what is happening in Russia. (actually the world - these days it's a scary place with Japan issues and wars all over the place).. with our agency... but mostly with our "baby to be". All we can do is hope and pray that he/she is getting the love and care that he/she deserves. I just wish I knew something more. Something to help me get through the next few months until I get the information we have been waiting 2 years for - well maybe our whole lives for. 20 years of marriage for. GOD - if you are listening - please answer our prayers soon. Signed - the impatient mother to be... The time is now. The time is now for me to be. who I'm suppose to be The one who cares for you The one who needs me too The one I need for me to be who I'm suppose to be. The time is now. You are what I have longed forever to have waited forever to be hoped forever would last prayed forever would be loved forever with me the impatient mother to be.

UPDATE: Now they are saying we won't hear anything until June....

e-mail from Happy Families International received today..
UPDATE:
Tatiana (Tambov region coordinator) received an update from Tambov today. When she checked in with the Department of Education today, she found out that it is likely that we will not be receiving a referral until June. This of course could change, but is where we stand at this moment.

After rushing around the months of February and March to get our dossier up to date so we can receive a referral - this is what we are rewarded with. Another delay....

I don't know what to say about this. Just very disappointed. :(

LATEST UPDATE- SOME GOOD NEWS AT LAST!

Everyone!
We just got an e-mail from our agency in NY - some good news at last... Tatiana has just returned from the Tambov region. She feels that we may be getting our referral in the Spring, March - April time. This is very much a guess and does rely on there being no unexpected delays, especially if other families (with all agencies), for some reason have to reject their referral and wait for another one to be issued.

so it is good news, but we must still be prepared there may be changes to this at any time....

WHOO HOO!

Well at least we have some idea... at the earliest Spring!....
We can all just pray that everything goes smoothly for everyone that is ahead of us.... so we are not delayed any further...
I AM SO EXCITED!

She has e-mailed Tatiana - Tambov region coordinator in Russia
There is little news, but she hopes to get me some information in January...
although January 7th is Christmas in Russia, so it will probably be after that,
because everything shuts down for a week afterwards... so now are looking at
maybe hearing some news after January 17th. ..
still waiting for news about my baby boy...

No news update:

Dear Tamra and Stephen,

There is no new news, only that your documents are in the Tambov region and they are in line to be registered there. Tatiana our coordinator there is busy working with 2 families so as soon as she receives any change she will let us know. This is the hardest part of the adoption process, just sitting and waiting, but please be assured your documents are in line and are moving forward.I will try and ask for an up date in a couple of week time, but you are welcome to ask for an update at any time.

Kind Regards.Alexis Fry

A poem I found yesterday... It made me cry.. grab a tissue before your read.

KISSES IN THE WIND (The Waiting Child's Lullabye)

I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.

I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.

Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.
